  Recently I had some (self-inflicted) issues with my pension entitlements that I needed to resolve. Being in Canberra I decided to discuss my problems with the Centrelink staff at Gungahlin in an attempt to fix the problem caused mainly by my absentmindedness.

  It is too easy for members of the public, to deride, decry or devalue the endeavours of those working in public service offices, when things do not go their way; and then forget when the assistance provided is fair and equitable. I therefore wish the manager and staff at Gungahlin Centrelink office to know of my admiration and gratitude for their professional management and resolution of my issue.

  I would like to go on record as being extremely impressed with the service of all the staff I encountered at Gungahlin Centrelink office. Their courtesy, friendliness and empathy towards my predicament and me were noticeable.

  However, one staff member in particular deserves mention for his willingness to listen attentively to my story, provide me with the correct relevant legal advice and further assist me to remedy my problem, he is a credit to Centrelink. Sadly, I cannot remember his name, he is however a Sikh member of our community (and in all probability the only Sikh employee at Gungahlin Centrelink office).

  I got in early and didn't have to wait long at all. I got served quickly to register my newborn child and the lady who helped was most helpful and clear about the whole process. The lady at the entrance also knew who and how to direct me so it was real easy.
